“KASTURBA GANDHI: Accidental Activist” documents the amazing never-before-told story of Mahatma Gandhi’s wife and equal partner in political and social activism. Gandhi himself said, “My wife became my guru. She taught me the lesson of nonviolence.” History missed this story! Producer-Director Cynthia Lukas will present, answer questions, and lead discussion.

Cynthia Lukas is a Producer-Director and presenter of documentaries that educate and inspire.  Her themes are world peace, nonviolence, unity and sustainability.With the non-profit Heaven on Earth Creations, she co-produced eight acclaimed documentaries on nonviolence and global oneness, including The Consciousness of the ChristRumi Returning and Globalized Soul.   Her most recent documentaries are Gandhi’s Gift** and** Gandhi’s Awakening, distributed by American Public Television on PBS 2018-24.  They are the first major films about Gandhi made in the U.S.    With her non-profit Sweet Springs Productions, she is Producer-Director- Writer of the first feature documentary about the life of Gandhi’s wife, Kasturba Gandhi:  Accidental Activist.  It too is being broadcast on PBS. It documents how Kasturba was Gandhi’s teacher in nonviolence and one of the first female activist leaders of the 20th century.  History missed this story.
