Presenter Bio for Harry Uvegi:
A Columbia University trained architect by trade, Harry founded his first design firm in 1978 and has designed and consulted internationally on high-end residential and commercial projects in his 40+ years in the Architecture and Design field. He embarked on a new journey in 2002 with the creation of Aspirallink, a search engine for sustainable products and services. Upon a deeper reconnection to nature, he became a founding member of Biomimicry NYC in 2012.
Since then, he has helped to bring Biomimicry into the spotlight for solving global challenges. In November 2014, he facilitated the BiomimicryNYC + Urban Green Harbors workshop titled “How would nature design resilient breakwaters?” together with Prof. Anamarija Frankic, co-founder of Biomimicry New England. The workshop brought together 40 people from across the United States—students, teachers, biologists, architects, designers, engineers, and business people—to focus on developing nature-inspired, ecosystem-restoring solutions for NYC Harbor Restoration on Governors Island. In 2015, Harry Uvegi founded brand.earth, a nature-inspired purposeful business model to help exponentially scale innovative nature-inspired solutions. He is currently engaged with bringing the brand.earth vision to the advertising industry and a beyond to create a more regenerative world.
