40 Years of Celebrating Peace Day: Stories and Songs that Make a Difference

Pathways To Peace is celebrating 40 years of leading, acting, and inspiring Peace! Please join us as various Peacebuilders share snippets of songs that inspire them and stories of their work for Peace through the years.
We cannot celebrate Peace Day without honoring our beloved Avon Mattison, Founder of Pathways To Peace. Avon is credited with working with the UN and civil society to advance the unanimous UN resolution establishing the International Day of Peace (Peace Day) in 1981. She did not do it alone, and many Peace leaders were there, working tirelessly to make it happen. When we honor Avon, we honor all those many people who have dedicated their lives to making Peace a lived reality. This event is to celebrate YOU!
Since its inception in 1981, PTP has worked with the UN to expand awareness of and engage in the International Day of Peace (Peace Day), which is held annually on September 21st. Peace Day has grown from a single event of a few hundred people into a global movement that reaches hundreds of millions of people. Peace Day provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace. http://internationaldayofpeace.org
