Presenters Short Bio
Lisa and Brian founded the Awakening Peace project in 2018, and select Awakening Peace Award recipients each year. The heart of their work is peace building from the inside out. They cultivate compassion for oneself as the first step, for without peace on the inside there can be no peace on the outside. Together they facilitate healing and reconciliation programs (such as the Jewish-German Reconciliation Project), Compassionate Listening workshops, listening practice groups and community listening councils as an alternative to more traditional conflict resolution practices.
