A peaceful and thriving world is one that is fundamentally free from all forms of oppression and domination. It is a world where humanity lives in right relationship with ourselves, with each other, with other species and with the entire natural world. It is a world in which all humans and animals have their core needs met without privilege or prejudice, so each can manifest their unique potential—in mutual enrichment with their communities and ecosystems.

The 99 Day Journey to Peace Week 2024, begins with World Unity Week at the end of June, and includes many stops along the way as we are holding a shared purpose of Peace through Unity towards a thriving world for all of Life.

PEACE WEEK INVITATION

Peace Week 2024 runs from September 14th through 21st and embraces the International Day of Peace (IDP) celebrated globally on September21. Peace Week also represents the closing arc of the 99 Days of Peace through Unity.

This year, for the first time, Peace Week is going to be celebrated both, on location and online. As part of Peace Week 2024, UNITY EARTH and its partners are embarking on a week long journey across lands of Japan. This pilgrimage symbolizes a profound testament to the power of collective action, transcending geographical boundaries, cultural divides, and ideological differences in pursuit of a common goal: PEACE.

Peace Week Japan consists of three parts:

Tokyo Convergence, 15-17 September, bringing together local and international spiritual communities, NGOs, indigenous leaders and global change-makers, across two days for networking, forging strategic alliances and forward mapping of our collective efforts for peace and unity, at this most-critical juncture in world history.

Mt Fuji Fields of Healing, 17-20 September, will be filled with sacred music, walks in nature, ceremonies, silent meditations, reflection and prayer. This pilgrimage to the sacred heart of Japan, Mt Fuji promises to be replenishing and revitalizing, to nourish all the group for the important work ahead in the sacred missions we are all called to serve.

Hiroshima Peace Day Concert and Global Broadcast, 20-22 September, live from Hiroshima. Peace concerts from Hiroshima and other places around the globe will be broadcasted live on Saturday night, September 21 (UN International Day of Peace). Featuring both local and international musicians and powerful voices from all over the world this broadcast event rooted in Hiroshima will be a “bell for peace heard ringing around the world”. Saturday night broadcast will be followed by events on Saturday morning.

Within Peace Week 2024, we are provided with an inclusive platform where each and every one of us can contribute to the shared vision of a peaceful Earth that is a blessing for all. This initiative welcomes a myriad of opportunities to unite the myriad inspiring endeavors that propel the momentum of people-powered peacebuilding. It is a time to recognize that we all have a role to play in fostering peace, and our diverse contributions come together to create a powerful field of intention and action.
